Chemistry of Materials: What advice do you have for young science-minded people starting out in their career?

Crawley: Intellectual curiosity, teamwork, diversity in thought, discipline, and personal interaction are essential tools for success in today’s global society. Millennial and postmillennial students should especially exploit the innovations in computer technology, engineering, and the Internet that were not evident with my contemporaries. However, with this onslaught of information and knowledge, they must also be careful not to sacrifice focus and individuality in their work.
