VCU Degree Seeking Students
Q: I am a current VCU degree-seeking student and have taken the prerequisites for a specific course somewhere else and they are not on my transcripts. How can I register for the course I need?
A: You need to send an OFFICIAL copy of your transcripts to the Transfer Center so the course can be added to your transcripts. In the meantime please fill out the Override form by clicking on the link below. Keep in mind no prereq overrides will be completed without sending an unofficial transcript to Chemistry at chemistry@vcu.edu.
Non-Degree Seeking Students
Q: I have taken the prerequisites for a specific course somewhere else and they are not on my transcripts. How can I register for the course I need?
A: The Department can grant you a prereq override so you can register for the course.
Q: How do I go about getting a prerequisite override?
A: You must fill out our department’s Override Request Form and provide us with a copy of your unofficial transcripts showing the prerequisite courses and grades. Please note that for the pre-req override to be granted a “C” or better in the prior course/course sequence will be required. This can be done via email at chemistry@vcu.edu or in person in Oliver Hall RM 3041.
