Postdoctoral Research, Princeton University 1979 to 1981

Honors and Awards:

NSF National Needs Graduate Traineeship, UCLA 1977 to 1978

NIH Postdoctoral Fellowship, Princeton University 1979 to 1981

Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship, VCU 1985-87

Novartis Lecturer in Bioinorganic Chemistry, UNC Greensboro 1999

Distinguished Scholarship Award, VCU College of Humanities and Sciences 2000

Research Interests:

Our investigations are centered on the utilization of optical and laser methods for the elucidation of transient processes of biomedical significance.  Short-lived intermediates involved in enzymatic catalysis are generated and probed by fast optical methods.  Processes in living mammalian systems are monitored by fiber optics.
